Sukrit Trust was
the brainchild of Bhai Sahib Bhai Jasbir Singh
Ji Khalsa and was officially launched by him on
25 September 2006, less than a month before his
passing. Bhai Sahib had a very keen desire to
help Sikh children succeed in life and wanted to
establish an institution that would provide
guidance and assist needy students to attain
senior positions in the civil service and in the
private sector. The objectives of the trust are
to provide Career Guidance, Coaching for Civil
Service exams, Vocational Training, Self Hep
Projects and Placement Services.
To encourage
and promote the recitation of Gurbani, the trust
has undertaken various projects, arranged camps
for Sikh children and youth in various parts of
India, published several promotional materials
including stickers, organised Gurbani recitation
competitions and released a CD. Jaswinder Singh
Khalsa of the Guru Nanak Trust (Manchester) UK
and Prof Sarabjeet Singh from the Agricultural
University, Ludhiana, have bene playing an
active and leading role in spear-heading the
projects of the Trust.
