Bhai
Sahib Bhai Jasbir Singh Ji Khalsa Khannewale was born in Chakri Village
in Pakistan. He was born in a simple family. His father Sardar Inder
Singh was a custodian. His mother Sardarni Parvati Kaur, the housewife
was pious and religious lady and the source of inspiration for putting
Bhai Sahib on this religious cause since his childhood. He was two and
half year old when his parents shifted to Amritsar during the partition
of the country. After that the family shifted to Sangrur where Bhai
sahib had his academic qualification. He used to take keen interest in
religious study and usually had discussion on religious matters by
giving all aspects of Gurbani while putting his point of view in each
discussion/smagam. Then at the early age, suddenly he lost his father
and the family as Hukam of Akal Purakh took this tragedy.
From
his early age Bhai Sahib Bhai Jasbir Singh Ji Khalsa was generous in
making friends and was force to stand against all odds on truth, He is
very inquisitive about the meaning of life and has inculcative belief
in the unity of God and practice the philosophy/thought/of Gurbani in
his real life. From the very early age, he was an unusually gifted
child who learned quickly to all fields of life including
academic/social/ religious and used to go deep to the route of all
aspects. Later on he shifted to khanna and settled his business. As a
young man Bhai Sahib used to spend, long hours absorbed in meditation
and in a religious discussions with holy men who used to come into his
contact. Bhai Sahib though worked during the day but in the ambrosial
hours of the fragmant dawn he used to meditate and recite Kirtan and
make all Sangat to pray the God Almighty as envisaged in Gurbani.
As
a Gur Sikh he is always humble and keeps himself to be the servent of
guru and sangat. As a true sikh and follower of sikh religion, he does
not believe in caste and have strong belief in the basic principles of
Gurbani He always preaches the basic principles of Shabad Guru and all
the illustrations in kathas always carries the authenticity of gurbani
as envisaged in Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji in its true spirit. He has
traveled extensively throughout the country to spread the message of
Sikh Gurus.Veerji chosen this medium to preach the message of Shri Guru
Granth Sahib while giving the practical illustrations because it is
easily understood by the population of the time. Wherever he went he
always asks the people to follow the basic principles of Shabad Guru as
Gurbani of Shri Guru Granth Sahib speaks on this line. He has also set
up local cells at different stations to recite Kirtan where Sangat
could gather to recite Gurbani for spiritual enlightenment of
mankind. He has also opened various platforms for the service of
humanity. He always inspires people to help the needy people
irrespective of caste and creed. Always he recites Kirtan and Kathas in
the praise of God Almighty strictly on the lines of Gurbani and only
Gurbani of Shri Granth Sahib Ji.
With the
blessing of God Almighty VEERJI started to build Gurudwara with the
help of Sangat at Sohana near Chandigarh. He has always been performing
Nishkam Kirtan Sewa throughout the Country for Sikhi Parchar and social
welfare. Also with the inspiration and blessing of Shri Guru Granth
Sahib Ji he has also been instrument in providing Ambulance facility
for accident cases, trauma cases/first aid facility at different
highways. All his actions/works are always been as per philosophy of
Gurbani/Sikh Religion. He has also been awarded the award the award of
Nishkam Kirtan on 24.04.1996 by Akal Takhat Sahib, the highest temporal
seat of Sikhs. During his preaches he also talks about the drug
de-addiction and always inspired the people for de-addiction, aids
control, eye donation, environmental pollution etc. He is also
instruments is spreading the message of 10th Guru Shri Guru Gobind
Singh Ji for Amrit sanchar and undertook various preaches for Amrit
Sanchar and thousand of people has been baptized. On the occasion of
300 years Anniversary of Sikh Religion, with the blessing of Guru
Granth Sahib he inspired more than 12000 people for Amrit and got them
baptized at Shri Anand Pur Sahib, District Ropar, and the birthplace of
Sikh religion.
As we approach the new
millennium, there is increasing demand for enhancement quality of life
through quality of vision. In India over 2 million people, majority of
whom are children below 12, suffer from corneal blindness and every
year around 25,000 more are added. To combat such a serious problem Sri
Guru Harkrishan Sahib Charitable Eye Hospital, an ultra modern and
well-equipped hospital provides eye care to general public. It gives us
immense pleasure and satisfaction to thank Bhai Sahib Bhai Jasbir Singh
Khalsa, Khannewale (Chairman of the Hospital Trust) for establishing
this trust. Bhai Sahib Ji got inspiration from the life style and
philosophy of Sant Attar Singh Ji Mastuana Sahib and Sant Niranjan
Singh Ji of Patiala to serve the people without any discrimination.
With
the above said objectives and noble concept of "Pay If You Can" and "To
Serve The Poor", the Sri Guru Harkrishan Sahib Charitable Eye Hospital
Trust, Sohana District, Ropar was constituted on 27.07.93 with the noble
object of establishing a most modern and sophisticated eye hospital at
Sohana near Mohali, to serve millions of eye patients of the country
irrespective of their caste, creed or religion and thereby remove the
miseries of million of poor eye patients. No patient rich or poor,
whether he can pay or not, leaves hospital without proper treatment.
